There is so much to love about Red Flag, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Red Flag energies, virtually a rebirth. Jim Jones has compared writing for Red Flag’s new album to that on ‘The Lighthouse’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. Red Flag is one of my favourite bands of all time.
This is one of those songs that musicians strive to write and create. Shame On The Moon motivates you to get up and do something to improve your life and the life of others. This is the most melodic ambitious and satisfying track in The Lighthouse. My Love is pretty funky and mellow. Album opener In My Dreams is a bright, upbeat ditty. Ruby Roses is nothing but pure genius. Things We Say is one of my favorite songs by Red Flag. I hope to keep hearing Red Flag works for a long time to come. Inner Sea (revisited) sets the tone for the entire album. Cry Me A River (revisited) is a romantic if not formulaic ditty.
