three years ago, Red Snapper briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “3 Strikes and You’re Out”. This is one of the best Cd’s Red Snapper has dropped to date. Red Snapper’s debut, ‘Prince Blimey’, does not fit easily into one genre. I wish that “Prince Blimey” album was instrumental.
The first time I listened to 3 Strikes and You’re Out I was struck by its perfect sound. It’s such an underrated song. Get Some Sleep Tiger is a song that definitely grows on you and becomes an album favorite. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with Fatboy’s Dust. This track is almost perfect, instrumentals and vocals combine awesomely. The Paranoid is a marvelous, simple song by Red Snapper at the top of his game. Vocals of Red Snapper in Space Sickness really capture me and are set perfectly to the rhythm. The song feels complete. Red Snapper sings Digging Doctor What What in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved. Some of the arrangements found on Prince Blimey are surprisingly edgy. Lo-Beam I just LOVE this mix!
