Leuchtfeuer carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. Lead single “Altes Kind” and “Sei Wachsam” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Reinhard Mey energies, virtually a rebirth. Such great and happy songs.
This track is clearly meant to showcase Reinhard Mey’s vocal abilities. Kati Und Sandy is new, fresh, and hypnotizing. Tierpolizei - is a breath or fresh air compared to many previous songs of Reinhard Mey. Album opener Mein Roter Baer is a bright, upbeat ditty. Music of Drei Stuehle is gentle, never overbearing. Poeter is such a excellent and optimistic song that things can get just better. Irgendein Depp Bohrt Immer…. is a romantic if not formulaic ditty. Alle Rennen - A classic Reinhard Mey track. Ein Und Alles - I like this one. In Kaspar it becomes nowhere more obvious that Reinhard Mey has yet to define own style. Gib Mir Musik! marked the continuation of Reinhard Mey in style evolution. Lilienthals Traum is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about. Nein, Ich Lass Dich Nicht Allein - This is a very lively song. I like to sing along with Ohne Dich, though I mess up the lyrics sometimes.
