seven years ago, Reinhard Mey briefly lived up to their terrific name, with an insanely addictive hit single called “Du Bist Ein Riese, Max”. Lead single “Ein Stuck Musik Von Hand Gemacht” and “Du Bist Ein Riese, Max” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. On Zwischen Zurich und Zu Haus - Live (CD2) album, Reinhard Mey have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. This is one of the best cd’s i have heard through the whole thing.
This is one of those tracks that should not be judged after the first hearing. Der Unendliche Tango Der Deutschen Rechtschreibung - My least favorite song on this album. In 51er Kapitan Reinhard Mey is at his best. Die Kinder Von Izieu - I like this one. There is cool mix of music in Selig Sind Die Verruckten. Meine Freundin, Meine Frau is a great opener for Zwischen Zurich und Zu Haus - Live (CD2). Ich Liebe Dich is one of those songs that will put you in a good mood. This track is a killer, it just grabs you instantly. Put Das Etikett into car stereo for your highway driving This is probably my favorite song on the album. In Uber Den Wolken it becomes nowhere more obvious that Reinhard Mey has yet to define own style. Ohne Dich is a very catchy tune. Das Kleine Madchen gives taste of what makes Reinhard Mey special as a musician.
