Since Rondo Veneziano last CD (Sinfonia Di Natale) on Capitol Records back in 1995, I have felt a massive void in my life. After debuting at No. 1 last week, Rondo Veneziano’s album Sinfonia Di Natale falls to No. 2 with 206,000, a sales slide of 92%. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Rondo Veneziano energies, virtually a rebirth. This is what good Classical should be.
This track is possibly the biggest guilty pleasure on Sinfonia Di Natale. This track is clearly meant to showcase Rondo Veneziano’s vocal abilities. Sinfonia Di Natale couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track Petit Papa Noel. Suite Di Natale - A catchy, upbeat tune. Music of Handelbach is gentle, never overbearing. Best song on the album, love it. I like the idea behind Christmas Suite I. I listened to the opening track Christmas Suite I and liked it a lot. Stille Nacht is an underrated song: I like its lyrics and melody a lot. This track is full of harmonies and gets Sinfonia Di Natale off to a relaxing start. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with Caro Babbo Natale. Sinfonia Di Natale (Reprise) is a very catchy tune.
