Scorn’s debut, ‘Evanescence’, does not fit easily into one genre. Since Scorn last CD (Evanescence) on Savoy Records back in 1994, I have felt a massive void in my life. For older fans Evanescence will put a massive smile accross your face. I greatly enjoyed this CD.
The sound of Light Trap is difficult to describe, as it seems to squirm in a sensual manner, unlike anything ever created. In Falling it becomes nowhere more obvious that Scorn has yet to define own style. I believe Automata is one of the most excellent, heartfelt songs ever written. It’s a great pleasure to listen to Days Passed from the beginning to the end. A great put together song. Exodus - I used to hate this song, but now it’s one of my favorites. Night Tide have really caught my ear and imagination. The End is a great song for a cosy night in when it’s cold and wintry outside. Within the first few notes of Slumber it’s perfectly clear that Scorn is living this song.
