There is so much to love about Scott Henderson, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. ‘Dog Party’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. Since Scott Henderson last CD (Dog Party) on SixSteps records back in 1994, I have felt a massive void in my life. Dog Party is preety good and all the songs have a good meaning behind them.
Dog Walk is the album’s biggest hit, I think. Only one song from Dog Party named Fence Climbin’ Blues really got me. Hell Bent Pup is simply exquisite. Hole Diggin’ is the first taste of the new album. Hound Dog is a bit of a show-tune. Milk Bone one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever heard. The sound in Same As You is really warm and Scott Henderson’s signature voice is still very much present. This song is very powerful, its catchy melody will have you singing along in no time. After you’ve listened to Too Many Gittars, most everything else can’t hold up and is second rate.
