Now signed to Scott Joplin’s Mute Records, the title track from second album “The Complete Works of Scott Joplin, Vol. 4″ leads Scott Joplin’s back-to-school campaign. This fifteen-song debut EP shows the promise that Scott Joplin has. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Scott Joplin energies, virtually a rebirth. This is my first Scott Joplin Album and i must say i am blown away.
Scott Joplin allows each song to breathe and flourish. The song Sugar Cane ending is my favorite… so catchy! Pineapple Rag is another strong production from Scott Joplin. This track is clearly meant to showcase Scott Joplin’s vocal abilities. Simply the finest work ever from this multi-talented singer. This song may be the most meaningful. Country Club is the first taste of the new album. From the sound of it, I believe the song can be a big radio hit. Euphonic Sounds is astounding. Stoptime Rag is new, fresh, and hypnotizing. It is succeeded by an outstanding track, however: Felicity Rag, which shows, blatantly, how much Scott Joplin has evolved as a singer. Lovin’ Babe can be hardly overrated by any means; this is what Scott Joplin is all about. Scott Joplin’s New Rag - This one is what it is: a powerful, primal invitation to love.
