It’s very catchy and easy to get into which is what you want in a song. Simple and heartfelt closing track THE SONG WITH NO NAME closes The Snake on a high note. AISLING (2:58) Not one of my favorites, but for a lot of people this is one of their best songs. I’LL BE YOUR HANDBAG - Well, here we get a bit more meaning. Shane MacGowan allows each song to breathe and flourish. In A MEXICAN FUNERAL IN PARIS it becomes nowhere more obvious that Shane MacGowan has yet to define own style. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of Shane MacGowan. Don’t judge DONEGAL EXPRESS on the first listening. VICTORIA one of the best in my collection. THE RISING OF THE MOON is one of these floating songs. Other tracks are good but your best bet is to stick with BRING DOWN THE LAMP.
