After seeing Sygyt, Khoomei, Kargyraa, I had to have a good Shu-De cd. This disc has all of the essential Shu-De classics. It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Shu-De energies, virtually a rebirth. Shu-De “Vioces From The Distant Steppe” is an amazing album.
This track, in particular, has the kind of undeniably catchy flavor. As always, Shu-De’s lyrics are worth listening to again and again. Strong, powerful vocals of Shu-De in Buura are very impressive. Durgen Chugaa - Check out that bassline! Throat-Singing and Igil was the first single release from the album Vioces From The Distant Steppe. Yraazhy Kys is the song that really did it for me. This track is a fabulous selection of easy listening, suitable for any age, taste or occasion. Baian-Dudai is a song that takes you on the journey before it reaches the conclusion. I find myself hearing bits of Khomus Solo here and there throughout my waking hours. Meen Khemchim is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. Opei Yry pretty much defines how I feel spiritually. Tyva-Uriankhai is a nice, innocuous song, and much better than anything Shu-De released so far. This track is almost perfect, instrumentals and vocals combine awesomely. Kadarchynyng Yry gives good insight into the truths. Kham is a striking and quite long song.
