It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of Sierra Maestra energies, virtually a rebirth. Sierra Maestra’s debut, ‘Dundunbanza’, does not fit easily into one genre. This is the first studio album from Sierra Maestra since bad diagnosis in 1994. Dundunbanza is preety good and all the songs have a good meaning behind them.
After about the third Dundunbanza listen through, I began to believe this song is Sierra Maestra’s essence. This song may be the most meaningful. Bururu Barara - Sierra Maestra first major hit. Mi Guajira Son one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever heard. It’s so catchy, it’s amazing. Kila Kike Y Chocolate is a good listen every once in a while. Sierra Maestra breathes new life into the music in El Gago. This is one hell of a track.
