This compilation contains all of the biggest hits by Slim Whitman. Since completing 1996’s ‘There’s A Rainbow In Every Teardrop(1996)’, Slim Whitman fulfilled their contract with Savoy Records and where under no obligation to release another album. Rose Marie CD 2 carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. Last Hot Album by Slim Whitman
This song is like perfectly aged vintage bordeaux wine not a tequila shot. Slim Whitman allows each song to breathe and flourish. I listened to the opening track There’s A Rainbow In Every Teardrop(1953) and liked it a lot. A fantastic track full of wonder. Rose Marie CD 2 couldn’t start better than with the up up-beat title track North Wind(1953). Darlin’ Don’t Cry(1953) is the best music that I have heard from anyone in any area of music. I have all of Slim Whitman’s tracks and Stairway To Heaven(1953) is probably the most his introspective effort. Lord, Help Me Be As Thou(1953) is a bit different from Slim Whitman stereotypical stuff. Warm, Warm Lips(1956) gives good insight into the truths. Ride Away(1954) on Rose Marie CD 2 is solid and easy to listen to. Voice of Slim Whitman in Secret Love(1954) is honest and guitar work is subtle and poignant. Why(1954) pretty much defines how I feel spiritually. We Stood At The Altar(1954) is the more seemingly obscure song on Rose Marie CD 2 that bear up best to repeated listening. There’s A Loveknot In My Lariat(1956) is marvelous work of Slim Whitman. In Too Late Now(1956) you won’t find any flashy solos. I Leave the Milky Way(1956) has a beautifully haunting disco flavor. Rose Marie(1954) is a catchy, up-tempo track that has influence of music streams without leaning too much in that direction. I like to sing along with Heart Full Of Love(1956), though I mess up the lyrics sometimes. Cattle Call(1996) motivates you to get up and do something to improve your life and the life of others. The first time I listened to Beautiful Dreamer(1954) I was struck by its marvelous sound. After you’ve listened to Singing Hills(1954), most everything else can’t hold up and is second rate. Haunted Hungry Heart(1960) - I like this one. Vocal harmonies in this track are great and song structure is just right. You Have My Heart(1956) is the albums biggest surprise. In When I Grow Too Old To Dream(1955) full palet of sound is used by Slim Whitman to accentuate the presentation. Cattle Call(1955) - a classic song. It’s very catchy and easy to get into which is what you want in a song.
