Since completing 1996’s ‘Smoke Signals(1957)’, Slim Whitman fulfilled their contract with Sparrow Records and where under no obligation to release another album. This disc has all of the essential Slim Whitman classics. On Rose Marie CD 4 album, Slim Whitman have renewed their membership in the ‘if it ain’t broke…’ school of songwriting. IT makes me wanna dance!
Among My Souvenirs(1959) without a doubt is the standout song of Rose Marie CD 4. Slim Whitman has astounded me with this amazing track. This is probably my favorite song on the album. Slim Whitman sings I Must Have Been Blind(1957) in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved. You’re The Only One(1962) is one of my favorite songs by Slim Whitman. Once Riding The Range For Jesus(1962) gets in your head, it will NEVER leave. Overall a nice softer song. Nice and different song. Musically Careless Love(1957) is superior to other tracks in Rose Marie CD 4. This track is just fantastic from start to finish. Warm, Warm Lips(1963) is the albums biggest surprise. If you are a Slim Whitman fan, you will love I’ll Take You Home Again, Kathleen(1957). Since You’ve Gone(1957) is a song that definitely grows on you and becomes an album favorite. An Amateur In Love(1957) is beautiful, yet underrated track. It’s very catchy and easy to get into which is what you want in a song. This is one hell of a track. Forever(1957) is a great song to contemplate the modern music and what it really is all about. I hope to keep hearing Slim Whitman works for a long time to come. Once In A Lifetime(1961) has to be one of the most beautiful tracks on the entire album. Tormented(1958) is really the reason why I recommend buying Rose Marie CD 4. Candy Kisses(1958) is just a great song and one well worth taking the time to give it a good listen. Hush-A-Bye(1957) - This one makes me want to not only sing along. Careless Hands(1958) is excellent and different song. A Very Precious Love(1958) is perfect work of Slim Whitman. Get Rose Marie CD 4 and turn on Put Your Trust In Me(1958) if you are going to sip your wine late at night. When It’s Springtime In The Rockies(1958) - To me, this is the best song on the Rose Marie CD 4. At the End Of Nowhere(1958) still maintains something of a specific flourish. Mexicali Rose(1959) is a song you cannot help but think about at odd moments in your day. My Best To You(1959) - a classic song. Cowpoke(1959) is a very good song maybe surprisingly better than you at first might’ve imagined.
