Lead single “I Don’t Believe” and “Shame” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. Stabbing Westward’s debut, ‘Wither Blister Burn and Peel’, does not fit easily into one genre. It’s natural for Stabbing Westward to take a stab at ‘I Don’t Believe’ considering her long-professed love for Babylon Zoo. Smart music for smart people.
Shame - My least favorite song on this album. What Do I Have To Do pretty much defines how I feel spiritually. Why is one of the best records ever. Inside You is a romantic if not formulaic ditty. This song is like perfectly aged vintage bordeaux wine not a tequila shot. So Wrong is really the reason why I recommend buying Wither Blister Burn and Peel. Crushing Me is possibly the best song Stabbing Westward has come up. Sleep - A catchy, upbeat tune. Slipping Away gets you up and jumping.
