Mila Sparrow has compared writing for Stephen Bacchus’s new album to that on ‘Ancient Mysteries’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. Since Stephen Bacchus last CD (Ancient Mysteries) on Virgin Records back in 1993, I have felt a massive void in my life. When you buy a Stephen Bacchus album, you know exactly what you’re getting! If I may, I suggest “Ancient Mysteries”. That one song is amazing!
This track makes my mind whirl and vibrate with flowing energy. In Druid Dreamtime you won’t find any flashy solos. Challenge At The Ball Court is a very catchy tune. Island Of The Moon - This one is what it is: a powerful, primal invitation to love. Island Of The Sun actually sounds so joyous, that you can practically see a smile on Stephen Bacchus’s face. By A Watergarden - I like this one. One of the songs that always stick in my mind is In The Secret Temple because the melody in the chorus is so good. City Of Golden Gates as a highlight of Ancient Mysteries contains a ton of excellent melodies. This track is just fantastic from start to finish.
