Steve Hillman had quite a long carriere and they made many hits. This album has some very good songs like Overdrive and Matrix (Part One). This thirteen-song debut EP shows the promise that Steve Hillman has. Exciting stuff.
In Matrix (Part One) you won’t find any flashy solos. I love the melodic melody of Interchange and to this day it makes me feel good. Ascendant is a marvelous song and it grows on you. Sphinx Dancer is nothing but pure genius. Into Space catches attention immediately, Taken To The Limit is nothing short of a modern masterpiece. I like Sequent Seven because it’s extremely catchy and has awesome drumming. Matrix (Part Two) is an incredible song that has everything it needs to be another favorite track. I was truly moved when I heard Dawning Light. Into The Blue is possibly the most mysterious and inexplicable track Steve Hillman ever produced. Tritone on Matrix is solid and easy to listen to.
