I am not a real Ambient music type of person, but i have to admit ‘Halcyon Days’ really is amazing. This disc has all of the essential Steve Roach, Stephen Kent, Kenneth Newby classics. It’s natural for Steve Roach, Stephen Kent, Kenneth Newby to take a stab at ‘Halcyon Days’ considering her long-professed love for Armin Van Buuren. IT makes me wanna dance!
First Day is probably the highlight of the album. After you’ve listened to Rainfrog Dreaming, most everything else can’t hold up and is second rate. Snake Brothers has to be one of the most beautiful tracks on the entire album. Slow Walk at Stone Wash is probably one of Steve Roach, Stephen Kent, Kenneth Newby’s biggest successes for the album - it’s lovely to listen to. This track makes my mind whirl and vibrate with flowing energy. No Steve Roach, Stephen Kent, Kenneth Newby song has come close to capturing my attention as Calyx Revelation did. Vocals of Steve Roach, Stephen Kent, Kenneth Newby in Kingfisher Flight really capture me and are set perfectly to the rhythm.
