For older fans New Beginning will put a massive smile accross your face. It has been eleven years SWV’ last studio CD, “New Beginning” which won Array Emmy� Awards and was nominated for album of the year. This disc has all of the essential SWV classics. Last Hot Album by SWV
Strong percussion and poignant lyrics of this track really gets under your skin. Some call Whatcha Need from New Beginning as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. On and On gives taste of what makes SWV special as a musician. One of the more genuine-sounding songs is It’s All About U. This song is like perfectly aged vintage bordeaux wine not a tequila shot. Where Is The Love (Interlude) without a doubt is the standout song of New Beginning. It is succeeded by an outstanding track, however: Fine Time, which shows, blatantly, how much SWV has evolved as a singer. No SWV song has come close to capturing my attention as Love Is So Amazin’ did. In Use Your Heart (Interlude) you won’t find any flashy solos. Vocal harmonies in this track are great and song structure is just right. I’m So In Love is absolutely incredible. When This Feeling (4:23) a good melody. What’s It Gonna Be still maintains something of a specific flourish. That’s What I’m Here For is a song that will not reduce you to tears but leave you thinking long after New Beginning have ended. A fantastic track full of wonder. Soul Intact (Interlude) is the excellent blend of moody yet optimistic tunes.
