On the Japan charts, superstar Telemann’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. I am not a real Classical music type of person, but i have to admit ‘Suites’ really is amazing. While no new Telemann album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1993 tour in South America. Telemann is one of my favourite bands of all time.
This is probably my favorite song on the album. Suite in C-dur - Espagniol I just LOVE this mix! I think Suite in C-dur - Bouree en Trompette is the best song Telemann has ever done. Suite in C-dur - Sommeille is the albums biggest surprise. Although I prefer the faster paced music, I think Suite in C-dur - Rondeau is my favorite song on Suites. Suite in C-dur - Menuet I, II - This one has a powerful beat and a good melody. The sound in Suite in C-dur - Gigue is really warm and Telemann’s signature voice is still very much present. Suite in D-dur - (ohne Tempobezeichnung) which is my favorite is a truly Telemann sounding song. Suite in D-dur - Bouree is one of those songs that will put you in a good mood. In Suite in D-dur - Loure Telemann is at his best. I’ve found myself listening to Suite in D-dur - Rondeau (2) back to back and back many times. Suite in D-dur - Ecossoise is one of the best records ever. Blew our minds when we first heard Suite in D-dur - Minuet. Suite in D-dur - Gigue (2) is a song that definitely grows on you and becomes an album favorite. The song Suite in B-dur - Ouverture ending is my favorite… so catchy! Suite in B-dur - Rondeau (2) (2) is nothing short of a modern masterpiece. Lyrics of Suite in B-dur - Air un pui viste are precise and evocative. I believe Suite in B-dur - Hornepipe is one of the most gorgeous, heartfelt songs ever written. Listening to Suite in B-dur - Menuet I, II (2) you can hear that Telemann has still amazing chemistry with band members. Suite in B-dur - Bouree (2) is an underrated song: I like its lyrics and melody a lot. I now have Suite in B-dur - Plainte as one of my personal favorites. Suite in B-dur - Combattans catches attention immediately, Suite in B-dur - Passepied I, II is flawed, nonetheless pretty good song.
