Body and Soul carries a very emotional theme throughout the album. This compilation contains all of the biggest hits by The Art Tatum. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of The Art Tatum on ‘Sweet Lorrain’. Body and Soul constantly brilliant.
Ill Get By (As Long As I Have You) is a song to enjoy for years to come. I’ll Never Be The Same has a fun tempo. Best song on the album, love it. This track, in particular, has the kind of undeniably catchy flavor. Body And Soul stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. Can’t We Be Friends presents the cool mix of instruments on Body and Soul. A fantastic track full of wonder. Music of Lover is gentle, never overbearing. All of songs on Body and Soul and have something to say letting alone Begin The Beguine. Only one song from Body and Soul named Indiana really got me. Poor Butterfly - My least favorite song on this album. Where Of When is amazing song though, very addictive. This song is like perfectly aged vintage bordeaux wine not a tequila shot. When listening to I’m Beginning To See The Light, it gives me such an energy rush it’s unbelievable. 9′20′ Special is new, fresh, and hypnotizing. In Fine And Dandy you won’t find any flashy solos. Although I prefer the faster paced music, I think I’ve Got The World On A String is my favorite song on Body and Soul. I’ve Got A Right To Sing The Blues is amazing work of The Art Tatum. From the moment you listen to I’m Coming Virginia you’re hooked. Day In-Day Out is a song that will not reduce you to tears but leave you thinking long after Body and Soul have ended. Make Believe - To me, this is the best song on the Body and Soul. Sweet Emmalina is a song to savor, to listen to from every angle.
