It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of The Byrds energies, virtually a rebirth. While no new The Byrds album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1994 tour in Europe. The Byrds’s debut, ‘We Have Ignition’, does not fit easily into one genre. We Have Ignition constantly brilliant.
I’ll Feel A Whole Lot Better is an incredible song that has everything it needs to be another favorite track. Chimes Of Freedom - A classic The Byrds track. It took me a little time but I ended up loving She Has A Way. All I Really Want To Do is kind of track that compels you to skip back and drink it in one more time before moving on through We Have Ignition. Spanish Harlem Incident - a classic song. First time I heard The Bells Of Rhymney was on radio driving in my car and sonically it just sounded amazing. The Byrds breathes new life into the music in It’s All Over Now, Baby Blue. This track is a fabulous selection of easy listening, suitable for any age, taste or occasion. Turn! Turn! Turn! is just simply stunning. This song is dynamic and dramatic. Lay Down Your Weary Tune - This one makes me want to not only sing along. As always, The Byrds’s lyrics are worth listening to again and again. The World Turns All Around Her hits the heart. The Day Walk (Never Before) is nothing but pure genius. The Times They Are A-Changin’ is a nice, innocuous song, and much better than anything The Byrds released so far. I Know My Rider is a song that definitely grows on you and becomes an album favorite. Eight Miles High is another strong production from The Byrds. Why I just LOVE this mix! Psychodrama City is probably the most interesting track on We Have Ignition. This is the kind of song I think of when I think of The Byrds. Musically Hey Joe is superior to other tracks in We Have Ignition.
