Lead single “Funky Junky” and “Long Haired Country Boy” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. On the Holland charts, superstar The Charlie Daniels Band’s career stalled before it left the starting gate. ‘The Roots Remain (cd1)’ kicks the album off with a blast of pure pop energy. The Roots Remain (cd1) is the best essence of The Charlie Daniels Band.
A great put together song. Caballo Diablo - The Charlie Daniels Band first major hit. Trudy - A classic The Charlie Daniels Band track. Orange Blossom Special was the first single release from the album The Roots Remain (cd1). The South’s Gonna Do It Again is really the reason why I recommend buying The Roots Remain (cd1). Vocals of The Charlie Daniels Band in No Place To Go really capture me and are set perfectly to the rhythm. Saddle Tramp - I like this one. Sweet Louisiana still maintains something of a specific flourish. Song Dixie On My Mind is actually a funny song. Wichita Jail is a song to savor, to listen to from every angle. The song Birmingham Blues ending is my favorite… so catchy! Texas is the most memorable and marvelous. Uneasy Rider is almost impossible to review. In Then, Now And Until The End full palet of sound is used by The Charlie Daniels Band to accentuate the presentation.
