For older fans Solo Banjo Works will put a massive smile accross your face. While no new Tony Trischka album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1995 tour in Australia. Self-described as Country with lots of words, Tony Trischka comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. One of Tony Trischka’s best albums yet.
Some call Fourteen - Trischka, Tony from Solo Banjo Works as a quiet invitation of an artist to sit and listen. This song has very few things relative to that of it’s predecessor. Strong, powerful vocals of Tony Trischka in Free Improvision No 2 - Trischka, Tony are very impressive. I can’t stop playing Assunta - Trischka, Tony. Tony Trischka offers the kind of music here that makes you reflect on yourself. From the sound of it, I believe the song can be a big radio hit. In Beaumont Rag - Trischka, Tony full palet of sound is used by Tony Trischka to accentuate the presentation. Kingfisher’s Wing - Trischka, Tony - Well, here we get a bit more meaning. Nashville Skyline Rag/Ground Speed/Shucking The Corn - Trischka, Tony is the gorgeous blend of moody yet optimistic tunes. Fort Monroe/Danville Days - Trischka, Tony (3:46) a good melody. Yaha Yaha - Trischka, Tony - arguably the best track on Solo Banjo Works album. I Feel Fine/Here And Everywhere/Eleanor Rigby/I’m A Loser/Baby You Can Drive My Car - Trischka, Tony is one of the best records ever. Rings Of Saturn - Trischka, Tony is beautiful, yet underrated track. Green Willis/Whiskey Before Breakfast - Trischka, Tony is possibly the most mysterious and inexplicable track Tony Trischka ever produced. When listening to Killer Bees Of Caffeine - Trischka, Tony, it gives me such an energy rush it’s unbelievable. Oma And Opa - Fleck, Bela is an upbeat song with a constant snare hit. Solaris - Fleck, Bela (3:23) - Oh, this is one of my favorites! This track is possibly the biggest guilty pleasure on Solo Banjo Works. I came to like Bach Violin Partitain D Minor - Fleck, Bela. Did You Ever Meet Gary Owen Uncle Joe - Fleck, Bela one of the most beautiful songs i’ve ever heard. Tony Trischka emotions are reflected through Improv/Hilmi Rit/George And Gladys Kazatski - Fleck, Bela. Twisted Teen - Fleck, Bela is the song that really did it for me. It took me a little time but I ended up loving Au Lait - Fleck, Bela.
