Lead single “Le Renard” and “Korydwen Et Le Rouge De Kenholl” start with near-whispers before kicking into giddily catchy, fuzz box-driven hollered hooks. This disc has all of the essential Tri Yann classics. After debuting at No. 1 last week, Tri Yann’s album Inventaire Vol. 2 falls to No. 2 with 392,000, a sales slide of 78%. Tri Yann is one of my favourite bands of all time.
Korydwen Et Le Rouge De Kenholl catches attention immediately, This song may be the most meaningful. Kimiad Eur Paour Kaez Den Oblijet Da Guitad E Vro is perhaps one of the best tracks of the past decade. Tri Yann sings his heart out in An Tourter. Overall a nice softer song. Les Cheveaux Du Mene-Bre sets the tone for the entire album. This track is clearly meant to showcase Tri Yann’s vocal abilities. This track is a great song that still never gets old. Complainte Gallaise - This happy song is an ode to optimism and an anthem. Quand La Bergere rocked my world when I popped it into my car stereo. Hanter-Dro Macabre - Check out that bassline! Tri Yann emotions are reflected through Kiss The Children For Me Mary. Les Echevins De Nantes very upbeat. The song Mrs Mac Dermott ending is my favorite… so catchy! Le Mariage Insolite De Marie La Bretonne make listening to Tri Yann like being in some sort of time warp. In Bergere Allons Doux the light shines equally on lyrics, vocals and instrumentation. Listening to Maluron Lurette you can hear that Tri Yann has still amazing chemistry with band members. It is succeeded by an outstanding track, however: Les Filles Des Forges (Pile-Menu), which shows, blatantly, how much Tri Yann has evolved as a singer. Nice and different song.
