This twelve-song debut EP shows the promise that Umbra Et Imago has. There is no doubt that Umbra Et Imago has talent. Self-described as Darkwave with lots of words, Umbra Et Imago comes out swinging on perhaps his best album to date. One of Umbra Et Imago’s best albums yet.
The opening track Viva Lesbian is very much like you would expect from other albums. Genealogie Der Moral as a highlight of Gedanken Eines Vampirs contains a ton of gorgeous melodies. Der Kleine Tod hits the heart. When listening to Gedanken Eines Vampires, it gives me such an energy rush it’s unbelievable. This is probably my favorite song on the album. This track is nearly perfect if not perfect. Sail Away is maybe the best thing the group’s ever done. Nachste Ausfahrt is the most memorable and cool. I can’t stop playing Wolfsfrau. Awesome song is really all that you can say about it.
