While no new Vanessa Mae album is in sight, the artist has been road testing new songs during 1996 tour in Asia. The Classic Album 1 is an amazing album, racked with beauty.Vanessa Mae’s debut, ‘The Classic Album 1′, does not fit easily into one genre. Lots of variety between tracks. My favorite is Partita No 3 In E For Solo Violin - II. Loure
Partita No 3 In E For Solo Violin - II. Loure stands out to me for its audacious melody and sheer beauty. In Partita No 3 In E For Solo Violin - III. Gavotte En Rondeau Vanessa Mae spins a tale you want to hear to the end. This is the most melodic ambitious and satisfying track in The Classic Album 1. Partita No 3 In E For Solo Violin - V. Menuet II defines beauty, yet is as unforgiving as an astringent stone. Partita No 3 In E For Solo Violin - VI. Bourree is kind of track that compels you to skip back and drink it in one more time before moving on through The Classic Album 1. Partita No 3 In E For Solo Violin - VII. Gigue is one of the more up-tempo songs on The Classic Album 1. Best song on the album, love it. Vanessa Mae must have run out of lyrics on the next track Romance #2 In F For Violin and Orchestra OP.50. Scottish Fantasy For Violin and Orchestra OP.46 - Introduction - Grave is sonically very melodic with nice haunting verses. I can’t stop humming along Scottish Fantasy For Violin and Orchestra OP.46 - Adagio Cantabile. Scottish Fantasy For Violin and Orchestra OP.46 - Allegro (5:26) Not one of my favorites, but for a lot of people this is one of their best songs. Scottish Fantasy For Violin and Orchestra OP.46 - Adagio - another great track from the The Classic Album 1 album. Scottish Fantasy For Violin and Orchestra OP.46 - Andante Sostenuto - This one has a powerful beat and a good melody. Scottish Fantasy For Violin and Orchestra OP.46 - Finale - Allegro Guerriero - Well, here we get a bit more meaning. I like I’m A-Doun For Lack O’ Johnnie because it’s extremely catchy and has awesome drumming.
