It’s a brave and brilliant refocusing of William Orbit energies, virtually a rebirth. This is one of the best Cd’s William Orbit has dropped to date. There is so much to love about William Orbit, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. To me William Orbit is the best band ever.
If you are a William Orbit fan, you will love Fire and Mercy. After about the third Jump Jet listen through, I began to believe this song is William Orbit’s essence. Silent Signals as well as many of songs is a short story in miniature. The Secret Garden has a gorgeous instrumental sound, which lets William Orbit’s strong vocals come to the fore. Out of the Ice pretty much defines how I feel spiritually. Scorpion is beautiful, yet underrated track. Excellent vocals and musical performances. William Orbit sings Jimmy’s Jag in such a comforting, confident voice that you can’t help but be moved. The Mighty Limpopo on Strange Cargo is solid and easy to listen to. Within the first few notes of Theme Dream it’s perfectly clear that William Orbit is living this song.
