Thom Yorke has compared writing for Xzibit’s new album to that on ‘At The Speed Of Life’ - but has declared the lyrics will be even more terrifying. There is so much to love about Xzibit, starting with incredible harmonies, songwriting chops and stellar stage presence. After debuting at No. 1 last week, Xzibit’s album At The Speed Of Life falls to No. 2 with 859,000, a sales slide of 64%. I Love At The Speed Of Life from start to finish!
It took me a little time but I ended up loving At The Speed Of Life. Simply the finest work ever from this multi-talented singer. After about the third Eyes May Shine listen through, I began to believe this song is Xzibit’s essence. Positively Negative (3:36) a good melody. It’s a great pleasure to listen to Don’t Hate Me (Interlude) from the beginning to the end. Nice and different song. Xzibit allows each song to breathe and flourish. I hope to keep hearing Xzibit works for a long time to come. Bird’s Eye View is one of the best records ever. The song Hit and Run (Part II) ending is my favorite… so catchy! Carry The Weight was the first single release from the album At The Speed Of Life. Within the first few notes of Plastic Surgery it’s perfectly clear that Xzibit is living this song. This is the most melodic ambitious and satisfying track in At The Speed Of Life. Last Words (Interlude) actually sounds so joyous, that you can practically see a smile on Xzibit’s face.
