When you buy a Yo La Tengo album, you know exactly what you’re getting! It has been thirteen years Yo La Tengo’ last studio CD, “Electr-O-Pura” which won Array Emmy Awards and was nominated for album of the year. Nowhere is this more so than on their re-working of Yo La Tengo on ‘Decora’. Exciting stuff.
Best song on the album, love it. The Hour Grows Late is so unique, as each one of the songs is. Tom Courtenay is marvelous song though, very addictive. In False Ending the light shines equally on lyrics, vocals and instrumentation. Pablo And Andrea is one of the best records ever. I like to sing along with Paul Is Dead, though I mess up the lyrics sometimes. Song False Alarm is actually a funny song. The Ballad Of Red Buckets is probably one of Yo La Tengo’s biggest successes for the album - it’s lovely to listen to. Don’t Say A Word (Hot Chicken #2) is nothing short of a modern masterpiece. (Straight Down To The) Bitter End - This one makes me want to not only sing along. I came to like My Heart’s Reflection. Yo La Tengo emotions are reflected through Attack On Love. Blue Line Swinger is perfect.
