This is one of the best Cd’s ZECCHINO D ORO has dropped to date. ZECCHINO D ORO’s debut, ‘36 Zecchino D’ Oro’, does not fit easily into one genre. Since completing 1993’s ‘Vulcani di qui vulcani da la’, ZECCHINO D ORO fulfilled their contract with Savoy Records and where under no obligation to release another album. This is one of the best cd’s i have heard through the whole thing.
Outside of the singles, my favorite song on 36 Zecchino D’ Oro is Si gira un film. Tango matto - Okay, I just talked about depth. The first time I listened to Pesciolino rosso I was struck by its marvelous sound. Mamma che stress - ZECCHINO D ORO first major hit. Minnie is one of the coolest songs ZECCHINO D ORO has ever recorded. Mami papi is the album’s biggest hit, I think. La barchetta di carta to me is the best you can get from ZECCHINO D ORO. La nonna di Beethoven is one of the best records ever. Il dialetto dell’amore - A strong beat. Il coccodrillo come fa - This one is lively and fun. Gli angeli di notre dame is the song that really did it for me. I tre pagliacci is a fine track on any terms. Balalaika is a song to savor, to listen to from every angle.
